The 2012 TicketCity Bowl in Dallas promises excitement. Use Eagle Trailways Bus Charter to get your group there!
Dallas loves to play host to post-season college football games! On January 2, 2012, the 2nd annual TicketCity Bowl returns to the Cotton Bowl in Fair Park. This year, the Penn State Nittany Lions will square off against the University of Houston Cougars: tickets are still available. Renting an Eagle bus for your group is the perfect way to enjoy the game.
The TicketCity Bowl got its start in 2011 and was intended to replace the Cotton Bowl Classic, which moved to its present home in Cowboys Stadium in 2010. At first, the game was known as the Dallas Football Classic in honor of its host city. Then, the online sports and entertainment ticket reseller TicketCity stepped in and became the title sponsor.
The idea behind this bowl game was to have a member of the Big Ten conference compete against a member of the Big 12 conference in odd-numbered years and Conference USA teams in even-numbered ones. However, following withdrawals by the Colorado Buffaloes and Nebraska Cornhuskers from the Big 12 at the end of the 2010 season, plans changed. The former Big 12 dropped both the TicketCity and Military Bowls from its rotating 9th bowl game bids and Conference USA emerged as Big Ten’s permanent TicketCity Bowl rival.
The 2012 matchup between the Nittany Lions and the Cougars promises to be an exciting one. Penn State is ranked 10th in the nation in total defense and 3th in points allowed. Houston ranks 1st in the nation in passing, total offense and scoring. The game will mark the third meeting between the two schools and the first since 1977: so far, Penn State is 2-0 against the Cougars.
2012 just may be Houston’s year to win. Or maybe not: the Nittany Lions are one tough team. Whatever the outcome, one thing’s for sure: college football fans are sure to have a good time. Eagle Trailways can add to the fun by making a trip to the TicketCity Bowl easy and hassle-free. Make your reservations today!
